10 mayo 1866 año - American Equal Rights Association

Descripción:

The National Women's Rights Convention officially merged with the American Anti-Slavery Society to form the American Equal Rights Association (AERA). Split over whether women's suffrage or black male suffrage should take precedent. At an 1867 campaign in Kansas, SBA and ECS felt like women's suffrage was being ignored in favor of black suffrage, leading them to leave the AERA and instead align themselves with white supremacists who supported women's suffrage. Broke up after conflict over the 15th, as it granted black male suffrage, but not universal female suffrage.
