 Julius Caesar was stabbed to death  On March 15, on the ides of March. He was killed by the senate due to the civil war and constant disputes. The senate feared that he would become a complete tyrant, they feared him. He was murdered in a set up at the meeting of the Senate, he was believed to be stabbed 23 times.  This is important because after his death Rome changed from a Republic to an Empire since Ceaser's adoptive son Octavian took over.
