20 jun 1874 año - Red River War

Descripción:

The U.S. forces, against the 1867, Medicine Lodge treaty meant to leave reservations for Native tribes and provide them with food, basic training, and land to hunt buffalo, made a campaign to remove the Comanche, Southern Cheyenne, Arapaho, and Kiowa Indians from the southern plains. The U.S. government also didn't come through in terms of giving the tribes food or other necessities and allowed U.S. hunters to mass kill buffalo - the main source of life for many Plains Indians. Angered, chiefs Isa-tai and Quanah Parker attacked a group of hunters at Adobe Walls post. Even though they had more people they still held up poorly against the hunters. Other small battles ensued, but fighting ended in June of 1875 when the Comanche entered U.S. fort Sill and surrendered.
