Following the war of 1812, relations between the US and Great Britain began to improve once more. The Rush-Bagot Agreement was a result of this improved relations, and it saw the disarmament of the Canadian borders by both countries. The treaty of 1818 also resulted in economic collaboration in newfound land between the two nations, and it also established an official border between Canada and the US.
