This was a group that was founded by Huey P. Newton, and Bobby Seal and argued for the advancement of Black power in black communities. Therefore, like Malcolm X, they challenged the liberalism of the civil rights movement. The Black Panthers organized community outreach in black neighborhoods and provided child care. However, the Black Panthers had confrontations with the police in the 1970s which destabilized the organization and greatly weakened it.
