Burns, an escaped enslaved man, is violently arrested by slave catchers. A mob gathered outside the Boston courthouse demanding his release. Ended with a US marshall getting shot. Feds send in the troops. They escort Burns back to slavery in Richmond. Cost 40,000. North pays his enslaver 1300 to get him back. Whole thing raises tensions.
