The Ghost Dance Movement was a religious movement in which the natives believed that it would bring back the prosperity of the past. Over the course of the movement the famous shaman Sitting Bull was killed during his arrest and in 1890, the Wounded Knee Massacre took place where 200 natives were slaughtered, marking the end of native resistance.
