1 jul 1814 año - Waltham-Lowell System
Descripción:
A system of labor using young women (called mill girls) to work in factories. Pretty horrible working conditions and lots of poverty. Most workers lived in factory towns or boardinghouses. This was the beginning of the modern factory. Employees now far less important, creating a pretty much voiceless working class. Changes in family dynamics as well, as work shifted outside the home. Lots of child labor too.
