Adams is basically out because of the whole France fiasco. Condemned by his own party leader AH. Came down to TJ and Aaron Burr, both DRs. Went to the house. Had to vote 36 times to break the tie. TJ wins. Burr shoots Hamilton over the result. Proved that peaceful (enough) transitions of power were possible. TJ changes the runner up becomes VP rule and fixes the election process so two people from the same party can't tie.
