Antonio Vivaldi was an Italian Baroque composer, virtuoso violinist, and cleric born in Venice on March 4, 1678. He died on July 28, 1741. He wrote multiple violin concertos, many of which were performed by the all-girls music ensemble, Ospedale della Pietà, a home for abandoned children.
