1 ene 1400 año - The Renaissance Era

Descripción:

The Renaissance era is widely accepted to have occurred between the years 1400 and 1600 to mark the end of the medieval era and the start of the baroque era. At this time, the musical centre was in Italy. Music in this era, whether secular (non-religious) or sacred (religious), was written for personal expression. Unlike in the medieval era, intervals of thirds, or its inversion, sixths, were now considered as viable options to use. However, the use of modal scales was still the norm. In the Renaissance era, polyphonic texture was almost always used. Renaissance musical notation looks very different from what we see today. There were no barlines, music was notated only in individual parts and rarely in scores, and note values were longer (whole notes were the primary unit of beat). Due to the invention of the printing press in 1440, music became much more widespread. It was written for vocal, instrumental, and mixed vocal and instrumental purposes, although there was more importance placed on vocal music. Instruments were generally used to accompany vocalists. Popular genres from the Renaissance era include masses, motets, madrigals, chansons, accompanied songs, instrumental dances, and more. Many instruments that were used are precursor instruments to the ones we have today. Some popular instruments included the organ, slide trumpet, cornett, viol, lyre, tambourine, hornpipe, bagpipe, transverse flute, and recorder.
