1 ene 1925 año - Cecilia Payne-Gaposchkin

Descripción:

Through a spectral and absorption analysis of multiple stars, Payne-Gaposchkin concluded in her thesis that most if not all stars are mostly comprised of hydrogen and helium.

Her works were quite a head of her time, being completely correct and still seen as 100% accurate to this day; but alas sexism prevails, and her works were not seen as legitimate. A male scientist, Otto Struve, came to the same conclusion, he even recognized her work in his paper saying that her work was "the most brilliant PhD thesis ever written in astronomy". He was then credited with the discovery, and her credit was only discovered so much later.
