Following the success of Operation Torch, the Allies were able to gain access to Axis Italy. All went according to plan and the Allies were able to even liberate the city of Rome. Mussolini is taken out of the Italian government and Italy changes sides in the war after being ‘freed’ from Mussolini’s rule and join the Allies powers in the fight against Russia and Japan.
