1 ene 1934 año - Indian Amendment Act 1934

Descripción:

The Indian Act was made and proposed to the world to comprehend the Indigenous people into normal society and accommodated politics deliberated to end the Indigenous people’s social, cultural, and political uniqueness. 1876 was when the Indian Act was acknowledged, and ever since then, all Indigenous People that lived in Canada were impacted severally. The Indigenous people were evicted from their traditional economies, lands, and traditional food that stayed with them since day one, which helped their immune systems. Their autonomy was broken and was replaced by possession of the government organization. The traditions and cultures they had were elaborated or ruled like it was illegal. They were forced to move into poor areas which were not seized for the environment and didn’t contain the tradition of lengthy family groups. About 150 000 children were taken to poor buildings and were put into the poor buildings with low heat that was proven to be a development floor for tuberculosis. They were also malnourished, sick, freezing, homesick, and were regularly exposed to medical experiments. The Indian act was very gender biased towards the women and disagreed with all their rights and access to assistance for their children and themselves. The First Nation women were legalized for voting in the running for presents, chief, and Council elections. When the First Nation women were under the Indian Act, they appeared in continuing violence, poverty, and marginalization, which is still happening to this day. The Metis and Inuit women were also abused and segregated against and stopped serving in all Canadian army or forces or getting degrees in university and college. They weren’t allowed to leave their city for an extended time, even if it was for employment, and they weren’t allowed to become a doctor or any kind of professional job. The politicians and the Non- Aboriginal people have blamed the acts as living too condescending and making a biased system with high costs and encounters profitable.
