-The Massive Retaliation was proposed by the Secretary of State, John Foster Dulles. He believed that instead of risking lives, money, and equipment; they should just use nuclear weapons against communist aggression.

-The Arms Race is the constant back and forth of which country has the most advanced and powerful military weapons.

-The Soviet Union made nuclear weapons after the United States causing the Americans to make another one to stay one step ahead.
