After Gudrune snapped at Gondul for not immediately going to aid Rowena, Gondul found her too brash to be able to continue her service to the Brotherband.
After he retrieved the Soul gem that contained Rowena's Soul, Gondul had her dismount her horse, kneel, and removed her from the Brotherband. The two departed in separate directions, not expecting to see one another again.
