28 jun 1919 año - Treaty of Versailles is signed
Descripción:
The treaty of Versailles was a treaty signed by nations after the first war, it held Germany responsible for starting the war. The treaty was created by the “Big Three” U.S. president Woodrow Wilson, French Premier Georges Clemenceau and the British Prime Minster of the time David Lloyd George. Essentially, they were the only ones making decisions for the treaty. Vittorio Orlando was also present but was not allowed to contribute. The treaty was created by these countries as they all saw Germany as the main threat to creating another war similar to that of WW1. France didn’t want to see their future or land threatened by the bordering country while Wilson wanted to create an “egalitarian system.” In the end the treaty was signed on the 28th of June 1919 by the defeated German delegates in the Hall of Mirrors which was the same place Germany had proclaimed their empire, (the signing went on to massively effect their economy.) The signing of the treaty of Versailles effected the world as it meant that the war was officially over but Germany would be forced to pay and take the blame for the entire World War. This caused Germany to go into debt making the country as a whole angry about the way the war had ended. It also caused them to later elect Hitler into government which he eventually overpowered and used to begin the second war.
