15 sept 1968 año - Civil RIghts Act of 1968

Descripción:

This is an expansion of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and prohibits discrimination based on race, religion, national origin, and sex for the sale, rental, or financing of housing. This was passed under LBJ after lobbying by the NAACP, particularly the Washington Director Clarence Mitchell Jr. This came as a result of the abundance of discrimination African and Mexican Americans faced when trying to purchase a home in certain residential areas. This resulted in further advancement for people of color and is the last big legislative achievement of the civil rights era.
