Descripción:

This was a massive protest where around 250 thousand people gathered at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC in order to bring attention to the continued discrimination faced by African Americans. This was when Martin Luther King Jr gave his I have a Dream speech. This march was the reuslt of Congress sutting off funding to the Fair Employment Practice Committee in the mid 1940s ultimately leading to its dissolve in 1946. Philip A Randolph proposed another march on Washington with the help of King and the NAACP. This march helped the Civil Rights Movement gain popular support and sustain the momentum the movemnet had built up to that point.
