First meeting of the “Big Three” (Roosevelt, Churchill, and Stalin). Great Britain and U.S. agreed to work to liberate France (eventually Operation Overlord) in the spring of 1944. The Soviet Union agreed that they would invade Germany and eventually join the war against Japan following Germany’s defeat.
