Descripción:
Penicillin was used to treat bacterial infections during World War II. Penicillin reduced the number of deaths and amputations caused by infected wounds among the allied forces, which saved 12% -15% of lives. In July 1943, the War Production Board developed a plan for the mass distribution of penicillin stocks to the allied troops fighting in Europe. [6]
