The Yoke of Babylon.
Jeremiah was given a similar message to take to various sets of ears:
*3 Send word to the king of Edom, the king of Moab, the king of the Ammonites, the king of Tyre, and the king of Sidon -- Jeremiah 27:3 (CSB)
*12 I spoke to King Zedekiah of Judah in the same way -- Jeremiah 27:12 (CSB)
*16 Then I spoke to the priests and all these people -- Jeremiah 27:16 (CSB)
The message was essentially the same which was to “Put your necks under the yoke of the king of Babylon, serve him and his people, and live!
13 Why should you and your people die by the sword, famine, and plague as the Lord has threatened against any nation that does not serve the king of Babylon? -- Jeremiah 27:12-13 (CSB)
