30 jun 1786 año - Shays's Rebellion

Descripción:

Shays's Rebellion was a rebellion by "debtor farmers" in Massachusetts. Unfair taxes caused the farms to be foreclosed and Daniel Shay led the rebellion against Boston creditors from 1786-1787. The rebellion threatened the economic interests of the business elite but the state militia put down the rebellion. During this time, the Articles of Confederation was viewed as very weak and many people thought that it could not maintain law and order. Shays's Rebellion led to the Constitutional Convention (the revision of the Articles of Confederation).
