Although Raphael himself may be less well known then other renaissance artists, despite being a ninja turtle, his work as an artist is certainly seen often. The School of Athens is most likely one of the first paintings that people will think of when they think of the renaissance, with its depictions of ancient philosophers and great men. It really shows some of the returning to classical ideas.
