1 jul 1871 año - Rome becomes the capital of Italy
Descripción:
After Garibaldi's capture of the Southern Italian states, the only remaining territories to capture were Venetia and Rome. When Italy joined Prussia in the 1866 Austro-Prussian War, Venetia was added to the Kingdom of Italy following the Austrian defeat. In 1870, the Italian army entered and captured Rome, which was left unguarded by a distracted France, which was involved in the Franco-Prussian war (1870-1871). Thus, the Risorgimento was completed, and in 1871, the Italian capital moved to Rome.
