Spanish Colonization starts in 1492 with Isabel and Ferdinand's funding of Columbus's voyage. Colonists are sent to Hispaniola and expand into Mexico and the Caribbean. They first encounter failure expanding north and west but slowly, after defeating the natives expand north into areas like California and New Mexico. These colonies had both economic and religious benefits.
