(Date inexact) She is eager for a rest when she goes home for Thanksgiving, is depending on sleeping pills at that time, and is "deeply depressed," by the end of November. She feels lonely. She is cheered up by a letter and a visit to Prouty. She does publish "Ode to a Bitten Plum," which awards her ten dollars and 2 months later they will give her a 100$ prize for her story "Den of Lions." At home over break, she is again depressed after the first few days. Just Before New Years, she comes down with Sinusitis, which has plagued her since she was a kid and will do so the rest of her life. She suffered the first attack after the passing of her father.
