The American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong released a statement saying survey results shown that its members were pessimistic about Hong Kong's short-term prospects, with about 44 percent of respondents saying the recent protests had hurt their businesses. Saying Hong Kong was in decline and Singapore will be the main beneficiary, the Chamber of Commerce suggested the Hong Kong government should withdraw the amendments and launched an independent investigation with international credibility.
