The Chief Executive of Hong Kong, Carrie Lam, together with Secretaries of all Bureaux, met with reporters to strongly condemn demonstrators of storming the Liaison Office and defacing the national emblem, and the Yuen Long attack. She refused to characterize the attack as a "riot" but stressed that the incident would be investigated; Commissioner of Police Stepehen Lo denied colluding with triads, saying they were "irreconcilable" and claimed that the hotline was unanswered because too many people called.
