Jeremiah 25 outlines a devastating response by Yahweh to not only Judah and Jerusalem, but to all the nations around about for their degeneration. It could only be described as something akin to a local 'flood' described in Gen 6-9.
The prophesy describes a period of 70 years v12, when Judah was to be under the rule and ultimate captivity of Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon. This, of course, coincides with non-biblical records of the time and the comments previously made in the record of King Jehoiakim.
