Do to multiple government and public groups questioning the guidelines outlined in the DIOG, specifically the seemingly permitted racial profiling, the FBI revised the document.
This release was created to provide instruction regarding the concepts and principles underpinning the sections of concern in the original DIOG. Redactions were made to protect personal privacy, internal personnel rules and practices, and law enforcement techniques and procedures.
