Japan, USA and United KingdomThe Battle of Okinawa, codenamed Operation Iceberg, was a major battle of the Pacific War. It was fought on the island of Okinawa by United States Marine and Army forces against the Imperial Japanese Army.
It was the largest amphibious landing in the Pacific theater of World War II. It also resulted in the largest casualties with over 100,000 Japanese casualties and 50,000 casualties for the Allies.
