1 abr 2003 año - The Youth Criminal Justice Act is passed

Descripción:

The act replaced the Young Offenders Act and fixed the problems that the Young Offenders Act had. The YCJA reduced conviction and increased reintegration of young offenders. The YCJA changed the process of sentencing youth, including more factors to consider when sentencing. The YCJA made it so that instead of sending children to adult courts for serious offenses, they give adult sentences. The YCJA outlines the principles used in custody and supervision. The YCJA is the most effective out of all the youth justice acts before it.
