In 1907 Ernest Rutherford studied the radioactive radium decays period to lead 206.
With this, we now use Technetium 99 to see if a patient has a sickness or not and doctors use this chemical because it has a short half-life deeming it not dangerous. This discovery helped us understand how long it takes for an element to change and disappear. Half-life explains the life span of a radioisotope and Its important to know when handling if a physicist if going to exposed for long or not
