In 1899, rutherFord discovered that alpha and beta "rays" was coming from uranium, though they aren't rays, they're particles that Becquerel and Maire Curie later discovered. The theory that uranium rays went up into smoke when polonium and radium was discovered. With the use of the radiation discovery were are able to create MRI machines and life-saving solutions to sicknesses and cancer. with this discovery, we also understand how radiation works and how it can be utilised to save us.
