Marie and Pierre Curie, wife and husband, discovered radium and polonium. Pierre curies ended his on work and joined his wife research which led them to discovery their two new elements. With their discovery we were further understanding more elements and can lead to new elements being discovered. Radium and polonium were also two of the 12 daughters of uranium and this helped future physisicst figure this out.
