1 sept 1939 año - WWII BEGINS IN EUROPE WITH HITLER'S INVASION OF POLAND Hitler used the ‘blitzkrieg’ strategy of waging war to take over Poland, which he justified by Lebensraum. Russia also invaded Poland, as Russia and Germany’s Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact said that the two countries would attack Poland together and split the land. This action finally prompted Britain and France to declare war on Nazi Germany.
