New houses built by the Maori Affairs Department for Maoris in that district.

So far, 25 housing sections have been obtained for Maori housing in Pukekohe, and building on most of them is completed. Great difficulty is experienced in the purchasing of suitable land for further Maori housing, which is badly needed for a total Maori population generally estimated to be 1,000.
