Miguel Primo de Rivera was a fascist military dictator endorsed by King Alfonso who wanted to end political corruption. He created many policies that had fascist ideology such as corporate state restrictions on Catalans identity, eliminated elections, and banned radical political groups like anarchists. The great depression caused the people to lose faith in Primo de Rivera and making him resign once he had no support from any wealthy influential people.
