When "La niña bonita" or the pretty girl (A nickname for the second spanish republic) was proclaimed it came with a new tricolor flag made up of red, yellow, and purple colors. The national anthem was also replaced from the royalist anthem to a liberal anthem. It was hoped that he Spanish Republic would solve most of the country's problems and prevent a civil war.
