18 dic 1894 año - South Australian woman given the right to vote.

Descripción:

This change was made for white south Australian woman (Unfortunately, indigenous woman didn’t get their right to vote until 1962.) after many petitions, three unsuccessful attempts to change the law and a decade long struggle for equality. This also gave woman a chance to stand for parliament. South Australian woman could vote before this but only property owners in local elections, they had the ability to do this since 1861.

Significance-

The significance of this was that it gave more equality to woman and now that they had the right to vote they could have a say in the matters of their county. It also helped in making way for woman to have other rights.
