KPMG admits criminal wrongdoing for the tax shelter fraud and agrees to pay a total of 456 million dollars in an agreement with the government in order to avoid corporate prosecution. 9 members, 6 of whom where former KPMG employees/officials where prosecuted for the creation and distribution of fraudulent tax shelters.
