The Ku Klux Klan, formed in 1865, was an extremist group. They were a white supremacist group that terrorized any other ethnicity, racial group, or culture that did not assimilate with Caucasians. Additional Info: There have been three total Klans: the first one starting in 1865 and ending in 1871; the second Klan started in 1915 and ended in 1944; the third Klan started in 1946 and still exists to this day
