Combining the responsibilities of the former Property and Health committees, this standing committee was established in 1956.
Responsibilities (1970):
All Council owned properties which were leased or rented including the Town Hall and Concert Chamber (but not the Tamaki War Memorial Hall); pensioner housing; transit camps; acquisition of properties for the development of the residential portions of the City; the enforcement of bylaws relating to sanitation, apartment and eating houses and the Municipal Abattoir.
