In 1855, a treaty between the Wyandot Nation and the federal government granted the tribe all the rights and privileges as citizens of the United States. The tribe would be allotted lands individually in exchange for residency and a simple fee payment in severalty. Thirteen members of the Wyandot Native American tribe received allotments for the potential Quindaro Townsite. The members included Matthew Brown, Amelia Cherloe, Esquire Greyeyes, Abelard Guthrie, Christopher Littlechief, Mr. Lewis, Ethan Long, George Peacock, George Spybuck, John Spybuck, Ebenezer Zane, and James Zane. The federal government delayed the issuance of the payments, but most distributed between January 1860 and December 1861.
