Stamp Act: introduced by Britain to try to recoup some of the costs in stationing troops in the colonies. Parliament required all legal documents, newspapers and pamphlets to use watermarked, or ‘stamped’ paper on which a levy (a fee) was placed.Añadido al timeline:
