- In addition to its small size, a microprocessor was faster than most processors at the time, this allowed the computers to advance, encouraging the development of more technology.

- This also allowed the creation of smaller, portable PCs, such as the IPod that became popular with the public. With an increase in demand, the manufacturerers and developers increased allowing for a further advance in technology.
