Infante Manuel (Alfonso's youngest brother and favourite) and the king's sons, Infantes Pedro, Juan, and Jaime all attended and threw support for Sancho.
They declared Alfonso unfit to rule.

Alfonso maintained allegiance of most of Andalusia and Murcia, but elsewhere, Sancho effectively ruled.
