Marlon Brando rejected his Oscar for his role in The Godfather in protest of how Native Americans were being treated, and in protest of how the military was handling the native occupation of Wounded Knee. Brando didn't even attend the ceremony, instead sending a Native American woman named Sacheen Littlefeather to represent him.
