Effectors are DIscovered
Descripción:
TALEs were remarkably similar to ZFNs in that they were customizable, however, each segment only recognized one letter of DNA, so they were 100% customizable, making it easier to create the right segment that was needed. Scientists quickly figured out how to give TALEs the ability to cut. They made them into nucleases, now titled TALENs and were even more promising than ZFNs were, but were still quickly overshadowed by the discovery of CRISPR (Doudna 34).
